The Assistant Director will oversee the management and budgeting of all Study Abroad programming for the University including international program exchanges, direct study abroad experiences, and faculty-led programs. The Assistant Director will also oversee the coordination of application process and awarding of travel grants and scholarships. The Assistant Director will work with faculty in the development of faculty-led programming and will work with key stakeholders to resolve issues pertaining to registration and financial aspects of the programs. The Assistant Director will provide management for the office or represent the Office of International Affairs in the absence of the Director
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Office of International Affairs is a centralized office within the Division of Academic Affairs that can serve as a comprehensive organization to coordinate college-based internationalization strategies, support faculty research agendas, and provide services to students (both domestic and international). The Office of International Affairs supports academic exchange programs for students and faculty, coordinates and provides students opportunities to study abroad, manages agreements with overseas institutions, works with faculty to develop new international programs including faculty-led study abroad, and in collaboration with the Liberal Studies Department helps administer the nationally recognized Global Studies Certificate Program. In addition the office provides global awareness activities through various cultural and educational activities throughout the year to create a campus-wide global perspective. Furthermore, the Office of International Affairs supports the enrollment of international students (F-1) and exchange visitors (J-1) and is responsible for maintaining the university's formal approval and privilege to recruit, matriculate, graduate and employ foreign nationals. Services also include guidance with international admissions to non-immigrant visa requirements, and orientation sessions for both international students and scholars. The office also supports the development of programs and activities designed to promote international student success in academics and research, provide support in English language skills as well as the social and cultural adjustment to the North Carolina A&T campus.

Requirements:
A master's degree in relevant field (e.g. International Education, Higher Education/Student Affairs, International Relations, Languages and Cultures, or relevant degree) from a regionally accredited college or university.
At least three years of work experience working with international education and/or study abroad experiences.
Cross cultural communication competencies.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, staff, faculty and other stakeholders.
Proven ability to make effective oral and written presentations.
International experience studying abroad, living abroad, and/or leading educational programs abroad.
Preferred:
Some professional work experience supervising international education and/or study abroad experience
Demonstrate success in effective engagement of U.S. domestic and international students through advising and orientation programs.
Experience with financial management of faculty-led outreach or study abroad experiences.
Administrative experience in both international programs such as study abroad
