This is a new position that will specialize in supporting students through the inter-college transfer (ICT) process and serve as a central ICT expert and resource. It is important to remember that these are currently enrolled UMTC students and their success in finding an academic home and feeling supported in the process is an important retention strategy.
This central role will provide accessible and holistic support for students in partnership with collegiate advising needed for these students. This position will be housed in the Center for Academic Planning and Exploration (CAPE) and provide students with support in navigating the ICT process and connecting students to important contacts as part of that process. This position will also work closely with the Academic and Career Coaches in CAPE to help ensure students create a parallel plan for high demand majors/colleges.
In addition, this position will assist with additional student populations that are often underserved, including students who are denied admission via the ICT process (789 ICT denied applications in Fall 21 and Spring 22) and students returning from suspension and/or leave of absence who wish to return to a different college of enrollment to complete their degree. Serving these students through these transitions will provide a high-touch and much needed targeted retention strategy.
