About the Position:
The Office of Registration and Records serves students and the campus community by providing quality service that facilitate enrollment, retention and degree completion, while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit, and maintaining articulation agreements with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and review petitions for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Transfer and Graduation Evaluator I. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar, as part of a team of Transfer and Graduation Evaluators, provides/maintains the critical advising tools that are essential to faculty and professional advisors in guiding students from matriculation to graduation. This is accomplished through transfer course evaluation; production of degree audits (TDAs); processing of course substitutions/waivers; review of concurrent enrollment requests and subsequent record updates; and the production of Graduation Checks. Works with students and staff to provide accurate information about transfer course articulation, CSUF degree, and graduation requirements. Evaluates external and internal academic records to determine eligibility for graduation and degree conferment. Records appropriate data in CMS to support student degree completion. Verifies transfer units awarded are accurately reflected in the Degree Audit System (uAchieve). Evaluates undergraduate supplemental records to determine applicability toward degree. Reviews student academic records as a final verification that all degree and university graduation requirements have been met and posts degrees to the student record. Evaluates coursework and transfer credits for NCAA eligibility for student-athletes. Provides analysis and interpretation of colleges and university policies relating to graduation requirements to the campus community in order to/solve complex student issues. College-specific evaluation requires an ability to explain complex policies and procedures to students, advisors, and faculty. Provides knowledge and recommendations to legacy and voided students about their degree requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Completion of a formal training program in academic records evaluation or one year of academic records evaluation experience or any 12-month combination of training and experience related to academic records evaluation. Knowledge of the format and interpretation of course records and transcripts of institutions of higher education. Knowledge of authenticating course credits and comparing records of differing formats, such as foreign records. Knowledge of campus curriculum requirements for majors, minors, terminal degrees, and special program designations. Knowledge of the application of campus resource guidelines for making determinations using various criteria. Ability to be thorough, consistent, and accurate in the interpretation of records against criteria. Ability to comprehend and interpret complex regulations or requirements and to apply them in the evaluation process. Ability to maintain resources which document and update criteria. Ability to explain criteria and evaluations to others. Ability to make accurate records. Ability to organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to safeguard the confidentiality and security of records.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with degree audit performance tools such as Darwin, uDirect, uAchieve. Experience with databases such as MS Access. Knowledge of CSU transfer patterns and policies. Knowledge of CSUF policies and procedures.
