Job Summary
The Success Coach assists current students using a case-management approach and by providing proactive student outreach and assistance with implementing effective strategies to increase student retention, success, and completion. Special emphasis is placed on assisting at-risk students and requires identifying students at risk of not continuing to degree completion and building continued meaningful relationships with them to meet their goals. The Success Coach will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success and is expected to be an advocate for the student, have a positive attitude, be adaptable and approachable. This position reports to the Director of the Student Success Center.
Job Duties:
• Actively engage in and contribute to the collaborative success-focused climate the Student Success Center seeks to provide students and the whole campus community • Assist students in connecting with campus and community resources to support student success and promote student development of self-efficacy • Work closely with students to develop and update success plans • Effectively manage an appropriate case load of students • Monitor and assess student progress by analyzing course grades and attendance • Consult with faculty on students struggling to succeed in courses to effectively assess support needs to offer to student • Assist students in working with faculty to problem-solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, such as attendance and persistence • Interpret and apply results of predictive analytics and non-cognitive assessment of identified students • Deliver engaging and informative coaching sessions through phone calls, emails, texting and other digital platforms • Coordinate student referrals to appropriate services to overcome barriers to success • Seek professional development opportunities that target areas for growth, including teamwork and collaboration • Provide professional development as needed that supports the mission, vision, values of the Student Success Center and Success Coaching • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institutionÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution
