Job Description Summary:
Essential Duties :
Assist the Director in the creation and implementation of college programming for a diverse student population. Market and promote student engagement opportunities to Blinn students. Assist the Director as assigned with student leadership programs, new student orientation and diversity initiatives.
Oversee the overall operation of the second floor of the Blinn College Student Center
Ensure Student Center, Pirates Den, and Game Room policies are enforced and followed appropriately.
Assist the Director and provide supervisory assistance of SLA events, as assigned
Schedule and supervise student workers to fulfill schedule
Coordinate with academic instructors and provide service to a.m. classes taught in Game Room
Assist the Director in managing all summer camps and SLA events held on campus
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma
Must have excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Ability to organize effectively and to work with limited direct supervision.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to work with diverse groups
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, other employees and the public.
Some knowledge of Word, Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Some college course work completed
Prior work experience involving student affairs, student activities, and student development.
Prior work experience at a college or university.
Past work experience involving facility management.
Past supervisory experience.
Salary Range: $15.00/hr
