Full-time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements: BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success. Faculty must be experienced in teaching in learning communities or willing to become proficient in learning community pedagogy and practice once hired, as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College. Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations. Ability to instruct online is a plus.

Position Description: Full time instructor in the Social Sciences Department. Responsible for the teaching and curriculum development of sociology courses.

Specific Duties:

• Teach Principles of Sociology and other Sociology courses. The successful candidate may be assigned to teach at any of the College's campuses or instructional sites
• Engage students through a variety of high-impact teaching strategies and student development approaches that are culturally responsive to a diverse student population
• Actively participate in department, division and college-wide initiatives such as, but not limited to: Learning Communities, LifeMap, the Center for Equity and Cultural Wealth, Open Education Resources (OER), and Community Engagement
• Collaborate with faculty colleagues in the design, pilot, and evaluation of course and program learning outcomes
• Continue to improve teaching practice and remain current in one's area of expertise by engaging in relevant professional development
• Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill all duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement

• Master's degree in Sociology, Applied Sociology, Social Work
• College-level teaching experience required
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population

Preferred Qualifications:

• Community college teaching experience
• Knowledge and experience teaching in Learning Communities, implementing Service-Learning, Community Engagement and/or Place-Based Learning, integrating technology into the classroom, and other culturally inclusive pedagogies
• Expertise in teaching Sociology of Family and/or Social Problems

Salary Range: $58,000.00-$68,000.00. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
