The Cornell Health Nursing & Clinical Support Services Department focuses on the health and wellbeing of Cornell's students in order for them to achieve academic, work, and life success. The department provides clinical support to the organization through nursing and clinical support services. Department members collaborate with colleagues across the organization to foster lifelong learning and wellbeing through innovative services and strategies that promote the mental, emotional, physical, and social health of individuals and our diverse campus community.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides support to the clinical staff by preparing the patient for the appointment, assisting during the procedure or examination if required, and cleaning exam rooms. In addition, they perform a variety of nursing functions, including: instructing patients on how to collect specimens, performing ECG, Spirometry, nebulizer treatments, wound care, administering immunizations, performing eye exams or hearing tests, administering medications in both oral and injectable form, and insertion of IV's. The LPN provides patients with instructions upon discharge on the use of any medical equipment and/or medications per clinician orders, and functions as a patient advocate.

Required Qualifications:
- Current New York State LPN license.
- Two years of recent experience in ambulatory care/clinic setting.
- Experience working with an electronic health record management system.
- CPR-BLS level certification required within one year of employment and maintained biannually.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a college health or adolescent setting, or with a diverse patient population.
- Proficiency in language(s) in addition to English.
