Job Description Summary:
The Associate Vice President (AVP), Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) serves as a senior leader of the Data Science, Innovation and Effectiveness (DSIE) team and is accountable for the college's data strategy including information assets and data governance structure, providing critical information for decision making, performing data analytics and trend analyses, and reporting for College leadership and federal, state, and local entities. Responsible for the functional areas of institutional research, institutional effectiveness and assessment, and data and metrics. In conjunction with the VP, DSIE and senior team, provides vision and implementation of the college's data strategy and governance. Responsible for facilitating intentional partnerships and collaboration with key department leaders on campus to coordinate research and data analyses.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Earned Doctorate required. Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, in higher education administration, business administration, measurement, computer technology, management information systems or a social science related field.
EXPERIENCE
Eight years of experience with four years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, statistical analysis, and reporting, and four years of experience in data science, business intelligence, or data analysis of large data sets, preferably longitudinal data sets.
Five years supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES
Knowledge of local, state, and national community college issues; academic and student development programs; curriculum development; current trends and issues relating to federal and state reporting; accreditation requirements; current and innovative practices in the development and assessment of institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
Knowledge of data science, machine language and predictive modeling
Demonstrated history of developing and supporting data governance and data quality programs, and performance measure creation.
Demonstrated track record regarding the development of assessment tools and methods of measurement; data warehousing; data dashboards; use of data for program improvement; and management information systems
Knowledge of instructional program assessment.
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Experience with SPSS software package or other quantitative statistical software
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge of database management systems functionality and database query language theory
Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation
Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to deliver complex information to vast audiences
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
