Harford Community College is seeking an innovative, resourceful, student-centered individual to lead the Student Development team. The Associate Vice President provides campus-wide leadership to promote student development and advocate for student success. This is accomplished by leading and managing direct reports in the offices within the Division of Student Affairs which include Student Life, Student Achievement (My College Success Network and the Learning Center), Advising, Career and Transfer Services (ACTS), and the Department of Accessibility, Community Standards and Student Well-Being.
Various responsibilities include serving on campus and community committees, including Achieving the Dream and the division’s Core Assessment Team; serving as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator; assisting in the oversight of Commencement planning and implementation; developing and monitoring annual budgets; presentations to the Board of Trustees when needed; supervision and evaluation of staff; responding to and resolving student, employee, and parent concerns; values efforts towards diversity, inclusion, and equity at HCC for all students; assist with student conduct concerns and in collaboration with the Vice President for Student Success and & Title IX Coordinator; ensuring overall compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines; and working closely and in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.

This position reports directly to the Vice President for Student Success & Title IX Coordinator.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Master’s degree in a related field required – such as counseling, educational leadership, higher education administration, or community college leadership – or appropriate certification such as a Law Degree, Organizational Development or Human development.
At least seven years progressive leadership experience in an academic setting is required.
