Job Summary
The Admissions Office of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a full-time Admissions Specialist.
Job Duties:
Duties include and are not limited to: • Creating a welcoming environment for the Admissions Office by assisting new students and visitors in a professional manner with exceptional customer service. • Provide information about the admissions process as well as general information about the college to prospective students and guests. • Ensure all communications, including email, telephone, and in-person, reflect the values of the college through professionalism, respect, and positive messaging. • Responsible for coordinating a welcoming and efficient experience for students and guests entering the Admission Office. • Assist students with admission applications and other documents required by the admissions office. • Scan, file, and process admissions documents into the electronic filing system (Onbase). • Use PeopleSoft, the college’s student information system, to process admission documents such as high school transcripts, test scores, and paper applications. • Assist with hiring, training and supervision of student workers. • Assist with tasks such as researching and resolving tickets escalated by the student services center and running queries. • Conduct all admissions activities with integrity, adhering to federal, state, and system policies and regulations. • Maintain a secure and confidential environment for student records and other data. • Organize workload to ensure deadlines are met and schedule work assignments according to priority or date received. • Other administrative support for the department may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and three years related experience, or equivalent are required.Â
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals with customer service experience, proficient computer skills, as well as bilingual candidates.
