Description of Work Unit
The Student Resolution Center (SRC) supports the developmental, behavioral, and educational needs of students. Through a myriad of approaches the SRC strives to maximize individual student success while upholding community standards and helping students overcome mistakes.
The SRC aims to assist, educate and support CSU students through the following services:
Conflict Resolution - voluntary, neutral, confidential process to assist students when conflicts, disputes or issues arise. Programs and services include Conflict Coaching, Restorative Justice, Mediation, Process Consultation, and training.
Student Conduct - one-on-one meetings to discuss alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code, hear perspectives, explore personal responsibility, hold students accountable and provide educational and restorative outcomes when appropriate.
The Assistant Director of Student Conduct Services (Academic Integrity) will have primary responsibility for the oversight, case management and adjudication of academic misconduct student conduct cases. The position plays a critical role intervening in student misconduct, facilitating a fair process, promoting student development and collaborating with campus partners.
Required Job Qualifications
Master's degree required in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or related field
Three (3) years professional experience in student affairs and/or higher education with an emphasis in student conduct
Experience adjudicating student conduct cases in higher education
Experience working with academic departments, faculty, instructors
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience adjudicating academic misconduct cases in higher education
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
Experience working with diverse populations (e.g. ethnically diverse individuals, students with disabilities, adult learners, international students, and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students)
Supervisory experience
Knowledge and application of theories and research in student development, academic advising
Knowledge of legal issues in higher education, including but not limited to Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA
Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution practices including restorative justice, restorative action
Demonstrated experience collaborating with campus and community constituents
Highly developed written communication experience such as reports, proposals, professional correspondence, presentation content and materials, etc.
Demonstrated public speaking skills such as teaching, facilitation and professional presentations
Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, and implementing educational programs, trainings, and workshops
Demonstrated experience effectively managing a complex caseload and multiple tasks

Adjudicate alleged academic misconduct for students utilizing student development theory; assign discipline standing when appropriate.
Determine and assign effective sanctions that emphasize restorative practices, education, student development and responsible behavior.
Advocate for students' rights and due process in an educational and supportive environment.
Counsel and advise students on an individual or group basis regarding behavioral, academic, substance abuse and emotional issues. Initiate referrals when appropriate to proper resource agencies on campus.
Understand and implement appropriate basic threat assessment protocols and collaborate with campus and community partners.
Serve as a hearing officer for alleged misconduct for students living on and off campus, as needed.
Evaluate behavior concerns for University applicants with prior criminal or disciplinary history; screen and clear applicants for admission.

Create, develop, facilitate, and manage appropriate educational sanctions, workshops and/or referrals to support students' educational and personal success.
Create curriculum for educational initiatives focusing on academic misconduct risk-reduction, cognitive restructuring, values, decision-making, stages of change, conflict prevention, etc.
Analyze data and create reports of current academic misconduct trends; utilize data to develop programming to educate faculty, staff, and students of trends.
Oversee and analyze effectiveness of educational programming and workshops offered through the Student Resolution Center.
Conduct community outreach by presenting to faculty, parents, students, and community members on the services and programs affiliated with the office.

Exhibit and execute a working knowledge and understanding of the concepts of student development, federal, state and local laws and ordinances, federal and state legislation and case law related to academic misconduct, student conduct in higher education, Title IX, behavioral health issues, and University policy and procedure.

Serve as liaison with academic colleges and departments on conduct policy, protocol, and processes.
Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with CSU offices and departments, including but not limited to: The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT), Faculty Council, Office of General Council, Office of the Registrar, Student Case Management, Student Legal Services, etc.
Serve as requested as the representative of the Student Resolution Center on University committees.
