Providence Country Day School, an independent school serving students in grades PK-12, seeks a dynamic, versatile educator who will serve as a part-time mathematics teacher and teacher/tutor within our Learning Center. Interested candidates should be qualified to teach multiple levels of math and provide individualized tutorial support through the PreCalculus level. This part-time position includes teaching two math courses and providing individual or small group tutorial support to students enrolled in our Learning Center.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator who is enthusiastic about working with students in grades 9-12, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, is a collaborative team player, and is comfortable integrating math with technology, science, and engineering. Experience or background working with a wide variety of learners and learning styles, including diagnosed learning differences, is a plus. PCD teachers are able to cultivate creative problem solving, critical thinking and higher-order mathematical reasoning skills. This teacher should plan to be part of a collaborative and versatile faculty team and an integral component of students’ lives, in the classroom, as a department member, and as a member of the PCD community.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher). PCD students use technology in a variety of ways in every discipline. Use of our learning management system, participation in the advisory program, and commitment to on-going education and innovation are required professional standards. In addition to teaching and advising, PCD faculty impact the lives of students through club leadership, coaching, or other extra curricular opportunities.
