Position Summary
This position provides direction and oversight of the initiatives related to credentialing and compliance for the School of Dentistry and its clinical activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Credentialing:
Ensuring that all faculty staff and students have obtained the appropriate credentials, necessary for clinical care.
Assure that credentials are current and that documentation supporting the clinical privileges is current as well.
Assure that all immunization records are current and up to date.
Assure that CPR and BLS training is current and up to date.
Assure that annual HIPAA, OSHA, and other training has been completed with documentation.
Compliance:
Ensuring that the compliance plan effectively prevents and/or detects deficiencies in compliance related to regulations, organization policies, or the professional responsibilities.
Responsible for identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk for the School of Dentistry and its clinical activities.
Communicating the importance of the institutional compliance to faculty, staff, and students.
Implementing a retaliation-free internal reporting process, including an anonymous reporting system;
Regularly reviewing the compliance plan and recommending appropriate revisions and modifications, including identifying potential compliance risk areas to the Dean and Director for Business and Finance.
Developing educational programs for all employees, students, or others working with the School of Dentistry. Educating faculty, staff, and students about the responsibilities associated with compliance.
Ensuring that the internal controls are capable of preventing and detecting significant instances or patterns of human error, illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by students, faculty, staff or others working with the School of Dentistry.
AxiUm Integration (work with the Director of axiUm Integration to provide the following):
implementation, modification, improvement, and maintenance of the use of axiUm clinical management software.
Serve as a member of the axiUm Advisory Committee.
Establish a relationship with and utilize the services of axiUm support and consultation services on a regular basis.
Give direction to the school's administration and leadership for the creation of new policies or modification of existing policies regarding to proper utilization of axiUm within the school.
Work with the school's IT staff to prioritize and direct all work related to the addition or improvement of hardware and software necessary for the proper reliable performance of axiUm in the school's clinics.
Understand and direct the development of/or provide data reports at all levels from axiUm.
Provide guidance to the school's faculty regarding proper utilization of axiUm to support the school's patient care and academic mission.
Engaging the members of the axiUm Advisory Committee, provide a system for continuous review and training to staff using axiUm in areas such as, but not limited to, patient management and flow, cashiering, scheduling, billing and collections, dispensary operations and student input.
Establish and manage a program of continuous axiUm training for both new and established faculty, staff, and students.
Develop and/or lead the development of training and/or self-help ('how to') materials for use by faculty, staff, and students. (Including materials for DS1/DS2 simulation cases.)
Implement and manage an axiUm enhancement review process to ensure that all new features of the software are reviewed and presented to faculty, staff, and student representatives for consideration.
Coordinate the upgrade process and make every effort to stay within one version of the latest release of axiUm
Direct the timing and coordination of regular minor upgrades to axiUm between major version releases.
Improve one's knowledge and understanding of axiUm by actively participating in axiUm workshops and training sessions, collaboration with others in the same position at other institutions and through self-directed education.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Education - A college degree Experience - Five years to seven years
Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
