The Student Success Program Coordinator fosters student learning and development by providing case management, specialized services, and ongoing support for military and veteran students in their first year of attendance at Bellarmine University through graduation. The Student Success Coach develops and delivers support in the areas of college readiness and campus resources. This position works closely with the Accessibility Resource Center, Student Success, and other campus partners to provide high impact support and mitigation of barriers to military student persistence at Bellarmine.
This is a full-time temporary position.
Coaching
The Student Success Coach will provide outreach and support to all military and veteran students at Bellarmine.
Meet once per semester with each student (between 15-25 students) for coaching sessions.
Follow-up with students via email and phone after coaching sessions to make sure they are seeking the services they need.
Collaborate with various campus offices to ensure students are receiving the support they need e.g. Dean of Student's Office, Disability Resources, Student Accounts, Counseling Center.
Training
The Student Program Coordinator will participate in professional development and ongoing training with the Student Success Coaching team in the SSC to maintain a high level of comprehension of student development theory, support for students in transition, and academic readiness high impact practices.
Student Program Coordinator may participate in ongoing training partnered with other departments across campus.
VA & DoD Benefits
The Student Program Coordinator is responsible for certification of all military-affiliated student benefits. This will require annual training.
All reports and compliance issues will be the primary responsibility of the Student Program Coordinator with the support of the OMVS director.
Programming
Student Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing OMVS programing with OMVS director.
Assessment
Assist in the creation of an evaluation of military student success outcomes in the program.
Analyze evaluations of military student success outcomes in the program.
Recommend ongoing adjustments and revisions to the program.
Job Requirements:
Experience planning small events in the last two years.
Experience communicating effectively with people both face to face and over the phone.
Experience with social media and other outreach tools
Good organizational skills
Experience working collaboratively with others in a work environment.
