General Summary: This position plays a crucial role in designing engaging digital and print communications including digital marketing ads, infographics, digital and social media graphics, video assets, newsletters, posters, invitations, event materials and other marketing collateral. As a member of the Marketing Communications team, this position will work closely with college members across the institution including Admissions, Enrollment Services, Advancement and Student Affairs to create marketing that supports the college's mission and promotes the college brand in the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design communication solutions from concept to final publication or production for both print and digital media, including brochures, fliers, posters, invitations, digital and social media graphics, video assets, infographics and other associated items
Create compelling original designs in addition to carrying out previously established visual concepts as defined by MCC's brand identity
Collaborate with department writers and clients on design solutions that are mission driven, engaging and are in line with the college's strategic plan
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously across a diverse range of media, clients and competing deadlines
Write comprehensive bid specs and work directly with vendors, including preparing files and reviewing vendor's proofs
Remain current on practices, design trends and software used by the graphic/digital design industry
Responsible for cataloging and archiving completed jobs according to office standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
An associate degree or higher, completed coursework or equivalent experience in the field of graphic design
At least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in in the field of graphic design
Fluency with Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator
Demonstrated proficiency in Brand Management
Demonstrated experience creating print campaigns, newsletters, posters, invitations and other materials
Demonstrated experience creating digital content including, social media graphics and video assets
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with video production and graphic animation preferred
Experience designing accessible communications

Additional Information:
