The Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator helps students build their career management competency as part of their undergraduate education through the CLA Career Management course offerings. This involves guiding and assessing student learning in three distinct ways: 1) via coordination of the career management course curriculum for CLA Career Services, 2) via assessing student learning outcomes according to the CLA Career Services student learning outcomes, and 3) supervising, training, and evaluating instructional staff, all under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Career Management Curriculum & Assessment.
This position has supervisory responsibility for teaching specialists, and the position provides work direction to overload instructors and undergraduate teaching specialists. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Career Management Curriculum & Assessment.
Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000

Job Responsbilities
Career Management Course Coordination (35%)
Coordinate, manage, and oversee or co-oversee CLA Career Services career management courses (i.e., CLA 3002, CLA 3201, CLA 3890, CLA 3896).
Implement systems to increase efficiency, quality, and equity in the delivery of classes while allowing for continued scalable growth.
Ensure curriculum is relevant and meets the needs of Gen Z liberal arts students.
Ensure courses and instructional methods are relevant and responsive to workforce and industry trends affecting liberal arts students. Partner with the CLA Career Services Employer Engagement team, CLA alumni relations staff, and others to infuse employer, alumni, and workforce trends into the courses.
Develop teaching schedules each semester and manage associated administrative and operational needs individually or through the work of others (permission numbers, add/drop processes, creation and management of the majority of Canvas course sites, onboarding and training, etc. to ensure successful delivery of courses).
Coordinate the administration of CLA’s Career Readiness Certificate:
Manage the infrastructure around student declaration of the Certificate, APAS record and graduation clearance processes and systems for the Certificate.
Communicate regularly with the student services team on APAS and graduation clearance processes and systems.
Course Instruction (20%)
Teach a total of 4-5 sections of career management courses each academic year (fall, spring, summer). Classes taught will depend on office needs and student demand.
Supervision and Training (15%)
Provide work direction to instructional staff, including career coaches in CLA Career Services.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and train teaching specialists and additional instructional staff to meet career management course demand. Lead instructor meetings.
In collaboration with student employment supervisor/s, recruit, hire, onboard, train, and provide work direction for undergraduate teaching assistants (approximately 1-12, many who are also peer coaches in CLA Career Services).
Ensure that the instructional team is well-trained and prepared to deliver inclusive and effective career management instruction for CLA.
Represent CLA Career Services at key college and campus-wide events (e.g., Admissions events, Orientation, Welcome Week, UGE Events)
Attend CLA Career Services staff meetings and engage in work being done across CLA Career Services, Career Readiness and Undergraduate Education.
Office Assessment Coordination (25%)
Collect and analyze assessment data for CLA Career Services, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Career Management Curriculum & Assessment.
Support the data and assessment infrastructure of all CLA Career Services programming and services, including self-serve modules and tools, in alignment with office learning outcomes for Career Management.
Coordinate and track with the CLA Career Services Employer Engagement team to integrate employers and industry perspectives into career management courses.
Contribute input and recommendations to inform UGE contributions to the CLA departmental 3-year strategic planning process.
Support as needed reporting of the Post-Graduation Survey (PGS).
Professional Development and Service (5%)
Commitment to ongoing social justice and racial equity work in order to identify, challenge, and remove barriers to access at the individual, community, and system level.
Engage in professional development and scholarly activity in the field of student affairs and career development to maintain knowledge of trends and best practices (e.g. membership in professional associations, attendance at conferences and seminars, write articles, serve on teams and collaborate with other professional groups, etc.).
Participate in Career Services, Undergraduate Education, College and University-wide committees as needed.
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS and three years of experience or Master’s degree.
At least 3 years of experience providing career or academic support, teaching, or designing courses
Demonstrated effectiveness supporting principles of equal opportunity, diversity, equity and inclusion, including experience supporting students and staff with varying identities and backgrounds
Ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, or a related field
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
Experience teaching career courses to college students
Experience designing career courses and utilizing learning management systems
Experience managing curriculum for one or more courses
At least one year of experience providing career support to liberal arts students
Experience using the Strong Interest Inventory assessment
Superior interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative
professional partnerships with a diverse range of constituent groups (e.g., colleagues, faculty, staff, students, employers, alumni.)
Interest in and/or able to conceptualize how to maximize data, assessment insights, and technology tools to deliver inclusive, effective, relevant, and tailored career development support for undergraduate students in a large scale context
Demonstrated evidence of advancing inclusive excellence in higher education as a core aspect of professional practice
Familiarity with the University of Minnesota and its College of Liberal Arts
Experience with program evaluation or assessment and a strong commitment to ensuring quality and continuous improvement in a student services setting
