The engagement coordinator in the office of parent & family programs will coordinate engagement for parents and families of students at the University of South Carolina-Columbia Campus. The coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing events, communications, programs, and outreach for parents and families. These resources will assist in allowing families to support their students' growth and success at Carolina. In addition, the coordinator assists parents and families with questions and concerns.
Primary duties include:
· Coordinate all forms of communication with parents of students, including writing and editing print and web publications, social media posts and mobile app content.
· Develop and coordinate parent and family engagement opportunities based on interest, region, and topics.
· Plan and execute the annual Family Weekend (hosting nearly 8,000 participants) and support other special events with significant parent/family attendance.
· Manage customer services efforts, specifically through the parent assistance line and parent email to assist families with questions and concerns. Manage an online system to track parent phone calls and emails. · Supervise student employees who work to support parent and family communication and events.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Requires a bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience.
This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies. This position will be asked to flex time to work some nights and weekends for functions and events. May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.
