Overview
The Assistant Dean for Academic Support and Development serves as a senior staff member of the College Advising Team assisting with the strategic planning and assessment of overall advising operations and support services for the College's 8000+ students. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Advising, the Assistant Dean serves on the Dean's Cabinet and represents the College to various internal and external constituencies. This position leads a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for overseeing, developing and implementing academic programs and services that support student learning and success, providing visionary and strategic leadership of the University Learning Center, partnering with faculty and other campus partners to develop and scale support programs and academic services, leveraging data to assess the effectiveness of support programs and academic services, uncover patterns and offer insights that will be used to inform organizational decisions and practices.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Master's Degree in Liberal Arts discipline.
Preferred Education: Ph.D., Ed.D., J.D., MBA, MFA in related discipline
Required Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated progressively responsible and successful experience in advising and administration, including staff supervision.
Preferred Experience: 7+ years experience, including related experience at a top college or university.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships. Superior presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Possess a strong commitment to student success through the use of innovation, and data informed decision making. Demonstrated ability to identify, resolve, and consult on a wide range of administrative and operations issues with a clear sense of institutional needs and priorities. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience working with a diverse student population and a commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
