The advisor to the Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB), is a member of a team of professionals that supports the student leaders and general body of the main student programming entity at The Ohio State University. OUAB is responsible for offering over 250 educational, entertaining, and thought provoking programs to the undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on the Columbus campus. The advisors for OUAB assists students with every aspect of the event booking processes including artist booking, contract negotiation, logistical event preparations, and marketing; develops meaningful working relationships with campus and community entities to offer extraordinary programs and events; advises campus traditions such as Welcome Week, Homecoming and Commencement Week; coordinates and supports our graduate and professional student programming initiatives, designs and conducts training for executive board and general members of OUAB; attends semi-weekly OUAB meetings; assists student leaders of programming board in developing short and long-term organizational and individual goals to achieve expressed learning outcomes; assists with conducting assessments, evaluations, and reporting on the organization; manages organizational finances; administers programming budget; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
Masters degree in student development, higher education or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; large university program planning and administrative experience; Knowledge of student development theory; Knowledge of and experience in working with students, staff, and alumni; Demonstrated skill in working with diverse communities and cultural groups; Demonstrated experience at student union.
The salary range for this position is $35,568 - $46,800.
