Provide leadership to law school financial aid office to ensure excellent student-centered financial aid services that best position the law school for success in enrolling incoming classes, retaining students, and complying with regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(1) Financial Aid Advising & Awarding
Advise prospective, admitted, and current students and their families on financial aid matters, including international students
Direct awarding and adjustment of student financial aid packages, including loans and scholarships
Create yearly cost of attendance budget and support individual student budgets
Serve as lead for financial aid-related communications, including email and website
Oversee work study program
Leverage technology to increase efficiency and improve student services
(2) Enrollment & Scholarship
Support Asst. Dean of Enrollment & Communications as requested with incoming class scholarship strategy and roll out
Administer named and endowed scholarship program
Assist with admissions events
Conduct scholarship interviews
(3) Research and Compliance
Ensure compliance with financial aid related laws and regulations
Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures
(4) Operations and Reporting
Manage law school financial aid office, including any financial aid officers and student workers
Maintain expertise in financial aid and admissions systems, including Banner and Unite
Maintain data and create reports for internal and external reporting
Track receipt of FAFSA applications and financial aid awards
Post scholarship awarding and renewal criteria in Banner and keep lists of these for future years' use
Improve processes, including those for serving students, maintaining data, and reporting
(5)Collaboration and Professional Development
Collaborate with main campus financial aid team
Collaborate with law school colleagues to promote financial literacy and wellness
Collaborate with AccessLex
Join professional financial aid organizations
Attend national and regional financial aid and admissions training and conferences
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Education: A college degree
Experience: Six months to two years (in higher education or financial aid preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Education: A doctorate degree (JD preferred) A college degree and a professional certificate or graduate degree (preferred)

Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Licenses/Certifications
Cannot be in Default on Repayment of Federal Educational Funds in order to obtain access to information in Federal Data Systems.
Salary/Pay Information
$65,000 Annually
