The Financial Aid Specialist, Information Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing efficient technological advancement for the financial aid department. Job duties include providing information and services to prospective, current, and former students, developing queries, and aiding in improving business practice efficiencies within the department and the student affairs division. This position will also collaborate efforts between the financial aid, records, faculty, strategic planning and accountability, and office of information technology.
This position may be eligible for telework according to the Minneapolis College's telework guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Working experience in areas such as higher education, federal financial aid programming or financial aid office setting.
Experience with or knowledge of regulations regarding the financial aid loan regulations.
Ability to review and interpret data to create queries and reports on applications such as Microsoft Suite.
Interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) to interview students and accurately assess their financial needs.
Ability to interpret and understand policies, procedures and processes in order to communicate accurate information.
Ability to organize and maintain records, materials, and files sufficient to evaluate their effectiveness and recommend and install new methods and procedures for improvement.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.

Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
