Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Director for Career Services to be responsible for the overall leadership and management of student career services and retention programs provided through the campus Career Center. These services and programs support and maintain a student-centered, inclusive campus culture that contributes to the engagement, learning and retention of a diverse student population, in alignment with the College's mission, values and strategic plan. The Director for Career Services reports to the Associate Dean for Student Retention & Completion.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop and integrate a comprehensive career services program for students;
Serve as budget authority for the Career Services budget, including revenue generated from career fairs;
Direct the design and delivery of employment workshops offering information and career research, job search techniques, interview skills, etc.;
Develop learning opportunities for students to articulate their soft skills during the job search process;
Collect, analyze and report student job placement data annually;
Develop, oversee and train CBC staff to assist with resume-writing and review services, as well as mock interview opportunities for students;
Work with division faculty to offer internship opportunities;
Supervise and direct all employees reporting directly to this position, including training, task assignment, professional development, scheduling leave approvals and performance evaluations;
Develop and implement programs and services that are responsive to the changing needs of program participants;
Direct comprehensive and industry-specific career fairs and coordinate employer visits on campus throughout the academic year;
Ensure maintenance of the Career Services software platform, college job-posting board and promotion of job opportunities to instructors;
Maintain and update an inventory of career assessment tools to be used in career counseling;
Promote workforce readiness and career development by collaborating with faculty in the classroom setting;
Disseminate information regarding career-training programs offered by the College to the public including employers, students seeking work, faculty and staff;
Assist instructors, counselors, completion coaches and staff in promoting CBC graduates to employers;
Attend Career and Employment Services Council meetings across state hosted by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges; and
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
Three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience working in an institution of higher education; and
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
Budget management experience;
Experience with developing new programs; and
Previous professional college or university career services experience.
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment. CBC also provides one-year certificates and basic skills for those pursuing a GED or high school diploma. CBC serves approximately 7,000-8,000 students each quarter.Columbia Basin College now offers bachelor degrees in Nursing, Project Management, Applied Management, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Dental Hygiene. These bachelor degrees are in direct response to the needs of our community. As a result of community needs, Columbia Basin College has recently opened our new state of the art Social Sciences and World Languages Center at the Pasco campus.In July 2017, CBC will open its second, four-story Health Science Center in Richland. In addition to training CBC healthcare professionals, the Wortman Medical Science Center will also be a functional medical clinic as part of Kadlec Regional Medical Center’s family medicine residency program.CBC will open a student housing facility in September.
