Job Summary This position will prepare, manage, and implement the overall marketing and communications strategies and plans for the Health and Wellbeing units-Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW) and University Recreation (UREC). Through planning, implementation, and assessment of best practices in both the marketing and higher education industries, this position also contributes leadership to a dynamic, learning organization committed to the development of all members of our community.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Communications, Language Arts, Marketing, Applied Business, related field, or commensurate experience
1 year of professional experience in Marketing, Communications, or related field
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communications, Language Arts, Marketing, Applied Business, or a related field
1 or more years of experience in a student life/student support position
1 or more years of experience supervising staff
Experience providing student or part-time staff mentorship
Demonstrated experience with specialized software used in marketing and communications efforts
Demonstrated experience or ability to use WordPress to create and/or manage a webpage

The candidate selected for this position can expect a starting salary at or above $46,000, with the final salary offer contingent upon the qualifications demonstrated throughout the selection process.
UWM offers a generous paid leave package including: Vacation: 22 days/year Observed Legal Holidays: Nine legal holidays are observed Personal/Floating Holidays: 4.5 days/year Sick Leave: Initial entitlement of 22 days which may be used during the first 18-months of employment (one day/month earned thereafter)
