Parish Episcopal School seeks an experienced, collaborative, and nurturing Upper School Digital Arts Teacher to join a dedicated arts team. This teacher builds rapport and communicates well with students, colleagues, and parents in addition to being flexible, adaptable, and creative.? This full-time position begins in ’23-’24 school year and reports to the Director of PARISHarts. This position will teach a variety of classes including photography, graphic design and yearbook and serves as an advisor for a group of 10-15 Upper School students.

Plan and implement clear, well-thought-out lesson plans that focus on student-first, hands-on, experiential learning and real-world situations, and generate enthusiasm and academic excellence in the classroom.
Use a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners and provide varied forms of feedback on learning.
Utilize technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
Communicate in a timely, clear, and effective manner with students, parents, and colleagues, informally and formally.
Highlight students’ successes and areas of growth through assessment.
Serve as a dynamic colleague and professional, collaborating with department and divisional colleagues.
Actively participate in the work of the visual arts department including innovative curriculum development and contributing to and support on-going exhibitions in and out of school including the annual ISAS Arts Festival and rotating shows in our on-campus gallery.
Monitor the academic, personal, emotional, and social progress of students.
Act as the advisor for one section of students. Advisors serve as the point person for communication with the parents of the advisory students.
Adhere and aspire to Parish Episcopal “Characteristics of Effective Teaching”.
Promote the School’s statement of mission and philosophy.
Maintain professional credentials as required by Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) or other accrediting agencies.
Assist with extracurricular activities and all other duties as assigned.
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attends Daily Chapel
Attends school events such as Upper School back-to-school night, Admission Open Houses, Field Trips/Class Trips, gallery opening and other PARISHarts events
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.
Experience and strong knowledge of digital photography, graphic design, the Adobe Creative Suite
Creativity in curriculum development, project-based learning and differentiated lesson planning for Upper School visual art classes.
Ability to interact with parents, faculty and staff, and handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity.
Organizational skills to guide the creation of a dynamic yearbook.
Experience managing a photography studio and computer lab, including purchasing and maintaining equipment such as digital cameras, printers, etc.
Manage program budget, including forecast, purchase and management of classroom supplies and equipment.
Strong communication skills, a sense of humor, humility, and empathy
Able to set goals and accept professional feedback.
Technologically literate and able to learn new systems and software.
Must meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
