Detailed Job Description The Senior Staff Assistant in the Computer Science Department serves as the Assistant to the Department Chair and manages day-to-day support tasks for the Chair, department faculty, and the Manager of Student Services. Reporting to the Manager of Student Services, the Senior Staff Assistant is responsible for the following:
Provide administrative support, including but not limited to calendar management and travel scheduling and reimbursements for the Department Chair, Program Coordinators, and the Manager of Student Services.
Triage issues for the Department Chair and resolve when possible
Support faculty members with requests including but not limited to space reservations, meeting scheduling, textbook orders, academic dishonesty cases, and processing faculty travel and budget paperwork.
Manage all aspects of course scheduling. Ensure appropriate number of courses and sections for student enrollments and faculty workloads. Work with Department Chair and Manager to resolve any conflicts.
Communicate all scheduling needs to the college Scheduling Officer.
Oversee the faculty recruiting process. Organize all application materials for faculty review. Arrange travel to RIT, hotels, and interview schedules.
Process hire paperwork for adjunct instructors.
Manage reservations for department lab space and conference rooms.
Create and distribute official student communications including suspension, probation, and referral letters.
Manage logistics for Colloquium speakers and guests.
Coordinate meetings of the department's Industrial Advisory Board
Mange department scholarships processes
Supports day-to-day Student Services operations as needed including event planning committees.
This position is 37.50 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in administrative support in higher education.
