This position will support the overall goal of reducing barriers and fostering the success of low-income, underrepresented students in STEM. This position will directly support student recruitment and improvement of student retention, with a focus on the College of Engineering & Science (CES). This will include managing CES dual enrollment and outreach activities, including the iDRAW program. This position will also help vulnerable students in their transition to CES through the implementation of research-proven strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Dual Enrollment Program Management (60%)
Facilitate scheduling of courses at the high schools as well as in the Detroit Mercy course schedule in collaboration with any Detroit Mercy instructors being employed.
Facilitate the enrollment and registration of high dual enrollment cohorts in the College of Engineering & Science, including courses hosted at Detroit Mercy, as well as those taught within the individual high schools.
Facilitate placement of book and equipment orders.
Coordinate with Admissions, the Registrar, and Student Accounting to ensure students are properly enrolled and the schools and state are billed correctly.
Work with dual enrollment instructors, including high school teachers, to ensure grades are entered correctly.
Work with dual enrollment instructors to collect necessary materials and student samples for course evaluation.
Work with dual enrollment instructors to schedule guest speakers and student assistants.
Serve as an overall liaison to the high school teachers, including the arrangement of stipends.
Oversee student assistants, including arranging their scheduling and payment.
Work with dual enrollment instructors to arrange field trips, including hosting groups on the Detroit Mercy campus.
Work with dual enrollment instructors to administer pre- and post-course surveys and to track student outcomes, including post-graduation.
Facilitate recruitment and connection of high school teachers and school personnel to different professional development opportunities. Assist with the delivery of professional development activities offered by Detroit Mercy.
Work with E&S Pre-College Office to facilitate recruitment and connection of dual-enrolled students to related extracurricular and summer opportunities, including those hosted by Detroit Mercy.
Work with Admissions to facilitate communication to dual-enrolled students about Detroit Mercy degree programs and scholarship opportunities.
Student Success Coordination (30%)
Assist at-risk students in their transition to Engineering & Science programs at Detroit Mercy.
This includes:
Manage the Summer Bridge Program.
Check-in with students in special programs (iDRAW, SEED, ELC, etc.) to make sure they have access to necessary resources.
Coordinate periodic community-building events.
Help coordinate a College Mentorship program.
Other duties (10%)
Organize meetings and facilitate communication with internal and external iDRAW partners.
Help identify and recruit potential partner organizations and programs.
Help maintain the program website and promotion of iDRAW activities through various media and communication channels.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications

Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
