Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the full-time position of Upper School Assistant Dean of Students. The individual in this position will be accountable for:
Supporting holistic student development and implementing educational and restorative interventions to support student growth
Providing primary oversight for minor student conduct and attendance interventions
Working in collaboration with the Upper School Dean of Students to address major disciplinary infractions and student conduct as needed
Coordinating Student Support Meetings and facilitating communication with stakeholders, working closely with the Student Support Team
Working in collaboration with the Upper School Dean of Students to support student groups, leadership, and school traditions
Serving as a Class Advisor by providing leadership and coaching for one grade level, facilitating Forum classes, and coordinating school traditions for that grade
Fulfilling one of the following (dependent on candidate qualifications and school need): teaching one academic class, coaching two athletic seasons, serving as a Residential House Director, or the equivalent
Successful candidates will be organized, empathetic, and have strong communication skills. Candidates should also have a demonstrated commitment to helping students grow, learn, and develop a sense of belonging. The individual in this role must be open to learning restorative practices and approaches to addressing student conduct.
Candidates must have a college degree and prior experience working with adolescents. Other requirements include strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task and maintain details, and the flexibility to manage multiple competing priorities with a keen attention to detail. Individuals should have proficiency with a variety of computing systems, including Microsoft and Apple platforms, MS Office suite, and Google Apps.
This is a twelve-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position reporting to the Upper School Dean of Students. Periodic evening and weekend hours are to be expected.
