Process admission applications and application materials for domestic, international and transfer prospective students, maintaining appropriate and accurate computer records, and assisting applicants, parents and guidance counselors with questions and concerns about the application requirements and process via telephone and email.
Specific Responsibilities:
Organize prospective student and application materials for data entry or scanning, enter the data into the computer system, process application document images, check database records for accuracy and completeness of data, and continuously update and correct records as additional or corrected information is received.
Respond to telephone or email inquiries from students, parents, or counselors concerning the status of the application and informing them of any additional information or clarification needed to complete the process.
Perform duties 1 and 2 for transfer students with the additional responsibilities of providing input to senior admissions staff on transfer applicant procedural issues, making recommendations for streamlining the transfer applicant process, updating the transfer section of the procedural manual, and tracking and preparing documentation of all transfer applicants requiring preliminary credit evaluation from the Registrar's Office, working with that office and other Northwestern departments in obtaining and communicating information to the transfer students and parents.
Transfer out all appropriate documents of enrolling students to the Registrar's Office and appropriate schools to facilitate the registration process.
Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks such as opening, sorting, and scanning mail, labeling mailings, special data entry projects; deleting duplicate records, and occasionally meeting with walk-in applicants who have specific questions related to the processing of applications for transfer students.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma with some college experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
One to three years’ experience in a responsible office position.
Experience working in an academic environment.
Experience working in a college admission office.
