Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management with a secondary report to the Associate Vice Provost for Admissions and Enrollment,the Senior Director of Strategic Engagement will lead and develop strategic domestic and global recruitment and enrollment initiatives to increase first-year/ freshman and transfer student enrollment.
You will lead initiatives to enhance UB's outreach and enrollment of students with the academic ability to be retained and graduate from UB. The primary responsibility of your position is to identify, recruit and enroll first-year and transfer students from historically racially and other underrepresented populations, international, rural and low-income students. In addition, this position will oversee international scholarship strategies.
You will be based in-person in the office of undergraduate admissions to advise and lead a holistic admission process for domestic and international applicants.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serving as a member of the office of the Enrollment Management Leadership Team.
Provide strategic advice and drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) student recruitment strategy to increase enrollment of domestic and international first-year/freshman and transfer students.
Demonstrate inspired leadership and strong organizational skills to oversee personnel, budget, reporting, compliance, and collaboration with internal and external entities.
Generate and analyze in-cycle operational reports to monitor and advise on applications, admits and enrollment.
Oversee UG Admissions campus visits and tours, special group visits and the STARS program.
Supervise and mentor a large team of domestic and international undergraduate admissions professionals, and student ambassadors.
Extensive travel in-state, nationally and internationally to recruitment events, meetings, and conferences.
Conduct holistic admissions application review and decisions.
Assist in developing campus-wide understanding and engagement in both processing and evaluation processes with a focus on DEIB/International student enrollment.
As needed, represents the university and its programs to the general public domestically and internationally, including high school and college visits, college fairs, visits to schools and community-based organizations, receptions, information sessions, and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree.
One (1) year of progressive experience in college admission or student support programing.
Proven experience in progressive administrative leadership with staff supervision.
Demonstrated successful recruitment, enrollment and program development within higher education focused on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, to increase diversity in all dimensions.
Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging concepts and issues (e.g., recruitment and retention, access and equity, the educational impact of diversity, etc.)
Knowledge of DEIB/International student recruitment best practices.
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of a holistic admissions process.
Strong team orientation, effective interpersonal skills, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
For travel purposes, a valid U.S. Driver's License or the ability to demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs for this position.
U.S. citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required for this position to access Governmental Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative or leadership experience related to diversity, equity, and inclusion within higher education, program development and assessment experience.
Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in college admission and or student programing.
Experience with CRM systems, databases and demonstrated ability to leverage technology.
Demonstrated commitment to data-driven decision-making, including effective analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals.
