Position Summary
The Program Development Analyst, working with the Assistant Director, supports the development and coordination of international programs. The Program Development Analyst also works in close collaboration with the Global Education Office and the Academic Colleges, supports the development of global education programs (including but not limited to Global Seminars, Course-Embedded, Transborder, Academic Related Travel, COIL, and Glocal) and helps coordinate other internationalization efforts. The Program Development Analyst assists in clerical, database and budgetary tasks related to travel requests, expense claims, reimbursements, and other forms related to travel.
This position requires the use of independent judgment to make decisions, interpret, apply a wide range of policies and procedures, and the use of ingenuity to meet new needs as required. Further responsibilities include the formulation, assessment, and evaluation of policies and procedures from a strategic and operational perspective related to the development and coordination of international programs. The Program Development Analyst is responsible for effective and timely collaboration within all levels of International Affairs, ensures confidentiality, and demonstrates trustworthy, ethical, and professional behavior.
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position expected to end on or before June 30, 2024, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Department Summary
The Office of the Associate Vice President for International Affairs is responsible for the coordination and development of international programs and services at San Diego State University including, but not limited to, faculty engagement, international research, international curriculum, international student services, study abroad, assessment, transborder programs, the SDSU Passport Office, and international alumni relations and development. The Associate Vice President for International Affairs reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President and serves as one of the executive officers in the Division. The Associate Vice President is responsible for the direction and coordination of department programs/personnel as designated by the Provost.
International Affairs provides services that meet the diverse needs of the SDSU global community and offers programs which foster global perspectives and diplomacy, intercultural awareness, and international goodwill. This unit serves as SDSU's central source of information and support services for faculty engagement, incoming students, outgoing students on study abroad programs, and passport services. International Affairs works with all areas of the university to identify and meet the unique needs of its constituencies and to provide opportunities for all members of the campus community to develop effective skills and perspectives for global citizenship and leadership.

Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Key Qualifications
Ability to coordinate multiple competing projects and priorities, with limited oversight
Strong attention to detail and ability to deal with ambiguity to find solutions to complex problems
High proficiency with technological software used in everyday operations, such as searching across and making updates to a variety of databases, Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Drive), and Adobe Acrobat and Sign
Experience in basic budgetary practices and principles with an organization, including purchasing, report production, and reconciliation via a web-based application interface, such as Oracle
Experience with using and helping maintain database systems
Experience with financial budgets, spreadsheets, and databases
Experience with completing and processing travel documents, and thorough understanding of travel policies and procedures
Fluency in a language other than English is preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,897 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,518 - $6,791 per month.
