Duties include: Oversee library technology resources, including suggesting improvements as necessary and contribute to long-range technology planning. Support technology initiatives, including STEAM programs and accessibility initiatives, based on community needs. Assist in the selection and acquisition of new technology. Maintain a technology budget, keeping a record of all expenditures, including contracts and other receipts, and provide statistical reports to immediate supervisor and library director. Oversee USC Union's PC iCarolina Lab at the Carnegie. Will work closely with Director of Carnegie Library, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and USC Union IT Director to plan and execute a variety of programs, workshops, and non-credit courses in the Lab for all ages. Support planning/operating of Lab at Laurens Location, as needed. Engage in continuing education to improve upon knowledge of Apple technologies, particularly Apple iPad, iMac and Apple MacBook and other Apple technologies and agility at learning new software and features of these products. Deliver and coordinate learning experiences in Lab, utilizing strong communication skills that allow for working with large or small groups as well as individual patrons visiting the Lab. Serve as a representative of the USC Union campus and Carnegie Library while at work and out in the community, including through service on various committees. Attend workshops and conferences relating to primary job functions. Assist with library technology special projects, including assisting with grants and managing project-related staff. Contribute to the current and future success of the library through technology planning and communication. Drive organization vehicle as necessary. Operate, maintain, and assist patrons in using library equipment and technology, and provide computer assistance to patrons. Position may require availability on some nights and weekends, and other duties as needed or assigned.
