Working in collaboration with staff across the University offices, the Assistant Director will help plan, coordinate, and engage students in undergraduate mobility program opportunities aligned with campus and University visions, including university-wide signature programs like Experiential Entrepreneurship and Semester-In.
Incorporating the University's mission, core values, and DEI initiatives, the Assistant Director represents the campus in the development and execution of the strategies and processes to create unique program opportunities for students across the Northeastern network. The Assistant Director supports the management and operationalization of new programs to provide an optimal learner experience and document for potential improvement and scalability.
The Assistant Director works cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to align the vision for new programs, propose operational plans, and implement those plans in partnership with campus, GEO, college, university, and external stakeholders. Highly skilled in the implementation of project plans, they ensure successful, scalable, and sustainable implementation of new programs that contribute to campus achievements.
The Assistant Director should possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Additionally, this position demands a significant amount of patience, flexibility, and initiative.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally acquired through a bachelor's degree (master's preferred_ in higher education administration or closely related field and at least three years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in higher education.
Working knowledge of academic and student life administration.
Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions in a timely manner based on thoughtful analysis and critical judgment.
Organizational tact and diplomacy; possesses highly effective interpersonal skills required to develop close relationships with students as well as key influencers around campus and the broader University.
Demonstrated ability to build internal and external collaborations, finding solutions benefiting all parties and focusing on long-term success over short-term results.
Ability to serve as an ambassador for the University in the region; representing the Director and campus strategic interests when appropriate.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required.
Familiarity with Salesforce, Terra Dotta, and student record systems (e.g., Banner) preferred.
The expected hiring range for this position is USD $64,480 to USD $74,075, based upon the position's scope and responsibilities.
