Oversee the implementation of a program that encompasses the engagement of students, young alumni, and families. Develop and oversee programs and strategies to create a culture of involvement and philanthropy with students, young alumni, and families. Work collaboratively with the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life, and offices including Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs as well as various student organizations. Serve as the advisor to Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT). Serve as co-advisor to the Ithaca College Family Council (ICFC). Oversee the conception, strategy, and implementation of programming that connects alumni to the college through their graduation classes, creating a continuum of connection from student to alumnus/a.
Collaborate with campus partners to create opportunities, and enhance existing programs, to engage students during all of their years at Ithaca College.
Work with Marketing Communications to develop a communications plan for student and young alumni engagement.
Work with the Senior Associate Director of Engagement to build strategies to cultivate donors from the senior class gift program.
Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
Establish and manage a young alumni engagement committee to create new, and enhance existing, opportunities for interaction between these groups.
Serve as advisor to Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow to create ways for students and alumni to connect with each other.
Work in collaboration with the Director of New Student and Transition Programs to serve as advisors to the Ithaca College Family Council.
Work in collaboration with Executive Director of Alumni and Family Engagement, other colleagues as appropriate, and student committees to develop student and young alumni programming and marketing for Alumni and Homecoming Weekend, and other events.
With Marketing Communications, establish communication strategies for students and young alumni utilizing current technology, e-communications, and web-based tools.
Work with leadership of each class, Residential Life, Student Government Council, and other offices to provide education regarding the importance of philanthropy.
Work collaboratively with the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life and offices within that division including Career Services, Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs as well as student organizations such as SGC and RHA.
Establish metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of all programs.
Assist the Executive Director of Alumni & Family Engagement in preparing, executing, and monitoring annual budgets. Verify and reconcile budgetary expenditures for student and young alumni programs within established guidelines.
Participate in and support other events sponsored by the Division of College Relations and Advancement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in alumni relations, preferably in student and/or young alumni programming. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment; understanding of higher education and the role of development, ability to travel and attend College functions during and after normal business hours, ability to work independently and in a team environment, establish priorities and meet deadlines are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to operate a personal computer and associated equipment such as computer printers and other office equipment used in day-to-day operations. The incumbent will be required to travel and may need to make alternative arrangements for transportation.
