Located at our downtown Toronto campus and under the direction of the Regional CEO & Dean, the Associate Dean serves as a key member of the senior leadership team who is the second in command to the CEO/Dean and responsible for oversight and guidance of various functions including: academic program delivery, compliance/regulatory matters, faculty affairs, program innovation and research, student services, and career services.
This critical role will work closely with the CEO/Dean and various other leaders both in Toronto and across the university to grow and position the campus as a strong asset in the region and across Northeastern's Global University System. The Associate Dean will lead the vision and delivery of various initiatives designed to promote innovation and strengthen brand. They will partner with the College Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors and other stakeholders (Enrollment Management, Office of Global Services, Legal/Compliance, Registrar, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting etc.) to ensure the successful delivery of programs and an exceptional student experience. The Associate Dean will also serve as a lead for innovating new programs and initiatives in collaboration with the academic colleges and the regional network. The Associate Dean will work closely with the CEO/Dean to build, contribute to, and monitor strategic plans and other related projects that enhance and support the mission of the Campus.

Finally, the Associate Dean will be adept at crisis management and solving problems quickly and thoughtfully with advanced change management skills.

Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through graduate studies at a master's or doctoral level in business, education, leadership or a related field plus at least 10 years of relevant experience
A track record of respected senior leadership positions in an academic setting is required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Academic Stewardship Serves as a strategist for developing academic programs, including recommending and implementing innovative new academic curricula. Acts as the primary liaison with Boston-based College Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors, other academic personnel and regional network colleagues to ensure programs are of the highest academic quality and aligned with local and regional workforce needs. Ensures that faculty, staff and students have the proper classroom setup, technology available, etc., to deliver the best learning/teaching experience. Acts as first point of contact' and problem solver for Academic Advisors and 80+ Faculty members on campus, working closely with Boston counterparts.
Strategic Planning Works closely with the Dean and senior leadership across the university (including the Registrar and Enrollment Management) to identify strategic opportunities, lead implementation and establish metrics.
People Management Responsible for overseeing a high performing team in Student Services and Career Services to deliver a best-in-class student experience. Works collaboratively with the team and network stakeholders to design and implement strategic plans as they relate to all aspects of the student experience. This will require innovative thinking, leadership, advocacy, and experience navigating complex situations.
Faculty Partnership Acts as a convenor between faculty, staff, and students to host events, classroom visits and provide training opportunities. Operates with a growth mindset and one that is focused on continuous improvement to lead all stakeholders higher and elevate student experience.
Licensure, Compliance and Accreditation Works with various stakeholders in Boston and Toronto to manage the Campus licensure, compliance, and accreditation criteria and processes in consultation with the governing authority in region.
