The Department of Educator CAFÉ is currently seeking applicants from qualified candidates for part-time (typically two classes), non-tenure-track adjunct faculty positions. The Educator CAFÉ Program offers undergraduate degrees that can prepare students for Teacher Certification in related careers for either a school setting or the public sector. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Field Residency 1, Field Residency 2, and Clinical Teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have evidence of effective teaching in the field of Education. Teaching assignments include face to face seminars and observations in the field. Workload hours depend on the course schedule but may include after-hours conferences.
Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate courses focused on Field Residency and Clinical Teaching.
Working with lead faculty.
Develop a relationship with partnering districts/schools that support and enhances TAMUSAs mission and goals.
Directly observe TAMUSA students in the field.
Provide ongoing feedback to students regarding lesson plans, observations, etc.
Arrange and conduct appraisal and assessment meetings to encourage and facilitate the professional growth of the teaching candidate.
Attend required professional development activities.
Provide support, guidance, and oral/written feedback to enhance student development as a classroom teacher.
Meet with candidates and cooperating teachers throughout the semester to ensure clinical teaching success.
Assist students in improving their professional decision-making abilities through critical self-reflection and self-analysis.
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Education or a commensurate field
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Skills and experience designing effective learning activities
Ability to work with the public in a pleasant, cooperative, collaborative manner
Preferred Education and Experience:
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education
University teaching experience
Experience mentoring students
Experience using T-TESS
Principal Certification
Experience in a supervisory role
Review of applicants will begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled.
Finalists will be required to provide three current, original letters of recommendation and original transcripts to the Interim Director of Field Experiences, Mrs. Sherry Nichols. Before issuing a letter of appointment, at least two original letters of recommendation less than one-year-old and bearing the writer's actual signature, as well as official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be received directly by the College of Education & Human Development.
