General Summary: The Coordinator of the Early Childhood Career Pathways grant is responsible for the support, development, implementation, and assessment of innovative educational collaborations among the college's early childhood partners, community constituency groups, and individual early childhood students seeking workforce credentials, certificate, and degree completion and/or academic opportunity, with the goal of promoting student achievement at all educational levels. Under the direction of the Director of the ECE Career Pathways, the Coordinator will promote student success through the design of systems, services, and strategies linking and aligning postsecondary education with current best practices in the field of early childhood education and in alignment with the Career Pathways grant parameters. Consistent with this goal, the Coordinator will assist with leading initiatives that build collective capacity across academic disciplines and student services to provide high quality approaches to college readiness, degree attainment, and student success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build existing and foster new partnerships with private and public early education programs, community constituency groups, workforce development partners, that result in tangible and measurable outcomes
Coordinate vertical alignment curriculum, assessment, and professional development activities
Perform outreach to ECE educators to create an awareness of the ECE Career Pathways grant
Develop strategies to streamline the recruitment and retention of students in the ECE program
Conduct monthly evening and/or Saturday on campus meetings with students as necessary, including study sessions, recruitment initiatives and/or enrollment and registration assistance
Conduct evening Zoom or on campus meetings with students at the beginning of each semester to complete new grant student orientation
Follow up on course interest requests from individuals for enrollment in ECE coursework
Assist with managing the ECE Career Pathways grant including budgeting, programming, and reporting
Collaborate with Admissions, Advising and Enrollment Management in the creation and expansion of early childhood education admissions and entrance processes
Collaborate with Admissions, Advising and Enrollment Management to design and continuously improve internal communication systems for information related to early education career pathways and articulation particularly focusing on adult learners
Participate in the Department of Higher Education's (DHE) & Early Education and Care (EEC) related initiatives
Represent Middlesex on community and school district/ECE boards or committees as appropriate
Manage partnerships with early education partners, college/universities, involving teaching and learning initiatives, such as offering courses on Middlesex campuses and/or community, and faculty collaborations such as professional development summits
Maintain effective cross-sector communication and collaboration
Participate and contribute to the MCC Early Childhood Education Department NAEYC Accreditation
Work in partnership with Admissions, Advising, Academic Affairs, and interested internal constituency groups to enhance and expand opportunities for adult learners seeking degree completion/attainment
Create and facilitate student and community workshop/seminar series (market, recruit speakers, etc.)
Work in collaboration with Instructional Technology to research and design learning portfolio systems and processes
Work in collaboration with Transfer Counselors, Technology Services and Instructional Technology to research and establish electronic systems that will promote cross collaboration, provide timely and relevant information, offer online resources, career tools, transfer information, and related processes for both internal and external community members
Create and apply assessment strategies that capture the needs of individual student advising and professional development needs and develop a communication plan to inform programmatic content in alignment with ECE professional standards (including but not limited to CDA, Certificate, Associate, and Bachelor's degree completion).
Provide consultation and academic advice to up to 30 students per academic year.
Create and manage community partnerships to increase the awareness and student participation in the ECE Career Pathways grant., including developing Peer mentoring; and Professional Learning Community (PLC) opportunities
Contribute towards the completion of all required reports as assigned by EEC and submit within posted deadlines
Engage in the development of workshops and programs which respond to the workforce development needs of our region; participate in related industry and community partnerships, including but not limited to educational and professional associations and committees
Participate in state and national organizations to keep current on trends and practices
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Early Childhood, ECE Community and/or Family Engagement
Leadership, administration and oversight experience with an EEC licensed early childhood program oversight and/or Family Childcare systems
Experience with grant management, grant reporting, and budgetary development, management, and implementation
Experience working with adult learners in higher education
Proven ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external constituency groups
Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree or extensive experience (3+ years) in the field of Early Childhood Education administration and leadership

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire, This position will be eligible for a maximum of two days of telework in accordance with the College's telework policy. This position requires flexible weekend and evening hours as determined by the needs of the department.
