Job Summary
Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for part time tutors to serve in the Upward Bound program. Upward Bound has offices on the Hazard Campus of HCTC. This position is considered a temporary, part-time position.
The Upward Bound Program is funded through the U.S. Department of Education which offers academic advising, career/transfer counseling, personal support, tutoring, educational workshops, financial aid counseling, and social/cultural enrichment activities. One hundred percent of the program is financed with federal money. This disclosure is made in compliance with Public Law 108-447 Sec. 506.
Job Duties:
Tutors will assist students in assigned subject areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have completed college level math and science courses with a grade of B or higher. Excellent communication skills are required, as well as an interest in working with faculty members as needed to determine how to address student needs in the subject area.Â
