Under general supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for ongoing department programs or offices. Assists with budgeting, provides counseling, technical/topical training, collects data and coordinates all program components. Produces programs and activities for students. Mentors students. Collaborates with other university entities to produce programs for students and assist with educational outcomes for non-academic conduct situations. May have marketing duties. May supervise support staff.
This position coordinates social justice programming efforts for the Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs (SMDP) office. These duties include advising the Free Food for Thought (FFFT) peer dialogue series and the Social Justice Advocacy Council (SJAC) student programming and affiliate board. Responsibilities also include leading diversity education trainings and supporting the annual SMDP student leader retreat.
Annual Salary Range: $35,360.00 - $40,000.00
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Counseling, Education or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. The ideal candidate is passionate about diversity and social justice focused programming for college students as well as creating welcoming spaces for these students. Experience working with and advising college students and student organizations is preferred.
