The Medical Records Associate functions as a member of a medical records team in support of the clinical and administrative staff in a fast-paced college health center. This position's primary responsibilities will be to manage incoming calls and scheduling medical appointments.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Greeting patients and visitors; answering questions about the Student Health Center services, including immunization compliance and the Student Health Insurance Plan.
Accurately entering information in the Electronic Health Record and Immunization systems.
Managing records requests and providing support to the department. A commitment to customer service and confidentiality is required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience :

Previous experience working in a college health setting, or a medical office
Existing experience with Banner and/or an Electronic Health Record

The mission of the Abrons Student Health Center (SHC) is to provide student-centered affordable, quality health and preventive services to the students of UNCW. The SHC provides comprehensive medical services, a retail pharmacy, health education, and intervention services. Utilizing an ecological health model, the SHC supports collegiate success and sustained health and well-being for all UNCW students.
