The Human Services Practitioner/Academic Coach will be responsible for providing academic and personal coaching, secondary academic advisement and cultural enrichment activities to program participants in TRIO Student Support Services. In addition, this individual will coordinate the weekly Residential Learning Community workshop components in conjunction with the Summer Bridge coordinator. The Academic Coach is also responsible for providing sound academic advising support to assist students in planning their educational career, learning skills necessary for academic success for program participants, and for connecting students to campus resources and services in support of goal attainment. Essential Functions: This position will also be responsible for academic monitoring of student progress and the design and implementation of academic and personal development workshops and seminars and other related duties for summer bridge students, new freshmen and Continuing students as required.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The TRIO Student Support Services Program is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs at NC A&T State University. TRIO Student Support Services is supported by a grant through the U. S. Department of Education. It is designed to generate in low-income, potential first generation college students, the skills and motivation necessary to complete a program of postsecondary education for (206) students to graduate from North Carolina A& T State University.

Requirements:
Associate's degree in an appropriate Human Services field and two years of experience related to the program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or an appropriate Human Services field and two years of experience related to the program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.
