Position Summary: Under limited general supervision, the Testing Assistant will provide general support functions, coordinate resources and administer a variety of testing programs for the Counseling & Testing Center. The Testing Assistant works in a collaborative team environment and acts as a provider of a variety of professional testing services. Testing Assistant must maintain knowledge of standards and administer proctoring services in accordance with detailed program-specific guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications: Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Providing excellent customer service; using a computer to enter, retrieve, organize and process information
Functioning independently with limited supervision
Learning and consistently applying detailed procedures, instructions, and regulations related to testing and the use of specific tests
Organizing and planning, including coordinating and maintaining multiple schedules
Communicating and interacting in a positive and confident manner with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
Applying basic technical skills included changing computer settings, installing software, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.
Working effectively and cooperatively with others in a busy office environment
Not currently enrolled in undergraduate degree program
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Experience working with confidential information
Experience working in a post-secondary setting
Experience with national standard testing programs, including computer-based testing, accommodated testing, placement testing, etc.
Demonstrated initiative; Takes responsibility for determining what needs to be done
Experience with reception in an office setting
Strong written communication skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Position requires continuous monitoring of activities in the testing center using video and audio surveillance equipment. The position administers check-in procedures that require verification of photo ID to person presenting for an exam as well as inspection of items brought into the exam area to ensure no unsanctioned resources are permitted in the testing area.
