Position Function: This position will coach, mentor, guide, and support International Students. This position will provide comprehensive academic coaching and student success strategies to help students maintain academic progress and timely degree completion, to ensure appropriate and accurate academic records, to execute departmental/divisional administrative policies, and to use judgement and discretion appropriately. This position will also support onboarding and culturing international students, as well as work collaboratively with units around campus to enhance the international student experiences at Ball State University.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution by date of employment. One year of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, academic coaching, or related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent personal computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years or more of experience in academic advising, international student services, counseling, or related field in higher education; familiarity with Ball State curriculum; familiarity with Banner and Degree Works; familiarity with international students’ immigration requirements/rules.
A Board-Certified Coach credential or International Coaching Federation recognized Certification Program; Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration; ability to identify barriers to international students’ success and facilitate effective remedies; ability to synthesize information and prioritize goals; ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal platforms; ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for diversity.
