The AB540 and Undocumented Student Center is an innovative resource and retention center at UC Davis. Its mission is to empower students in attaining their educational goals and provide referrals to support students' legal and financial obstacles. The center supports undocumented students and the local immigrant community by engaging in educational outreach, providing advocate training to educators and students in addition to a broad range of workshops, programs, and support services for the UC Davis undocumented and immigrant student population. Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Director, provide oversight for daily operations of the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center. The Associate Director supports Community Advocates (student interns) in creating and implementing educational programs, supervises retention initiatives such as the UndocuPantry and Community Intakes, and collaborates with other campus departments and student organizations to meet the needs of the broader campus community. This role will supervise a Resource Coordinator who maintains the front desk, is the primary advising and support of students with a holistic framework, and leads the student financial application processes. The Associate Director is responsible for leading and implementing special projects and outreach to participants in innovative programs including UndocuWelcome and ImmiGrad. This role will provide assessment and analysis, advice, and team training support throughout the year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
Experience in all aspects of selection, training, coaching, and supervision of career staff, student leaders, fellows, interns, and volunteers in a higher education setting
Experience working for, interacting with, advocating with, or learning from the undocumented immigrant community with sensitivity to the experiences and challenges undocumented immigrant students face with immigration laws and higher education policies.
Experience in building capacity and leading college and HS students in student-centered peer education programs and the ability to serve as a catalyst for collaborative efforts.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
Skills to work independently and as a team member in developing & maintaining operational procedures to facilitate effective use of time, resources, and information through initiative, priority setting, attentiveness to deadlines, high level of support and creativity, and independent judgment.
Analytical skills to evaluate policies and procedures, interpret terms and conditions of financial aid award documents, identify the impact of new policy implementation, and develop guidelines with an emphasis on equity and inclusion.
Skills to gather and analyze information, present data, analysis, and results to facilitate decision-making and recommend/Implement alternate solutions.
Oral presentation skills to serve as a speaker at workshops/training, in addition to providing small group and one-on-one advising.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
Masters in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, Ethnic Studies, or equivalent training/experience
Experience cultivating and sustaining ongoing collaborative relationships with a wide array of constituents (staff, faculty, students, community members, and with campus and community organizations) in order to accomplish goals
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
Writing, editing, and proofreading skills to provide support to large-scale fundraising and recruiting emails, web and workshop content, etc.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to prepare statistical reports, analyze a variety of data, and develop solutions to challenges that present themselves.
Skills to analyze procedures and make improvements for continuous operational performance improvements that support student services and programs.
Interpersonal skills, cultural competency, and political acumen to interact with individuals of varying ages, immigration statuses, cultural backgrounds, sexualities, abilities, genders, religions, spiritualities, classes, and perspectives, as well as to interact with campus administration officials, faculty, and staff.
Organizational skills to achieve timely progress on multiple and simultaneous projects.
