Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Track and report student academic progress. Facilitate an early intervention program for students at academic risk
• Lead and implement programs and initiatives to ensure students develop personally and professionally as they progress through the program
• Maintain records of student academic status and communicate to students their requirements for successful academic progress. Maintain communication of student academic progress with other departments, as necessary
• Serve at a variety of student-facing interfaces and advocate for Joplin student concerns
• Plan, organize and lead student events
• Formulate remediation plans for course failures. Perform necessary functions for the tracking and management of remediating students
• Maintain and manage student learning resources
• Manage functions and communications for students that are separated from the University (academic suspension or Leave of Absence)
• Ensure consistent adherence to policies, practices, and initiatives
• Serve on committees as appointed by the Dean
• Assess and communicate outcomes of student absence requests
• Set the tone for a positive student culture and climate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
• Previous experience working with students in higher academics preferred
