Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services the Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management provides the vision and creative leadership for the organization and execution of the overall strategic enrollment plan for the College. The Dean will provide leadership for recruitment, admissions, orientation, registration, Student Welcome Center (service counter and college call center), and Testing Center. Based on available data and in coordination with instruction and key areas of the College, the Dean is responsible for evaluating and updating the strategic enrollment plan on a regular basis.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for policy development and institutional compliance for recruitment, admissions, placement testing, and registration activities. • Lead the operations of the enrollment-management team, which includes recruitment, admissions, orientation, registration, and Testing Center. • Directs and oversees the development of robust recruitment strategies for online and adult students. • Manages the incoming student cohorts by being an expert in identifying enrollment trends; leveraging data analytics and predictive modeling. • Monitor weekly metrics for enrollment goals, ensuring that all departments are meeting or exceeding weekly, quarterly, and annual goals. • Create communication plans for all phases of the recruitment and admissions process. • Evaluate all system emails, texts and external communication campaigns and ad hoc messaging through the CRM system to ensure effectiveness in attracting and retaining all student populations. • Oversee staff hiring, training, professional development, and performance management processes. • Act as Principal Designated School Official responsible for directing and implementing all Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rules and regulations required to maintain the College’s approval to enroll non-immigrant students. Act as point of contact with internal staff and external agencies, including DHS, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), and FBI in regards to international student status, progress and cultural adjustment. • Maintain and disseminate up to date knowledge of federal regulations governing international students. • Direct and oversee responses to all federal compliance questions in regards to F1 visa students. • Perform all annual changes, updates and required recertifications with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program to continue college’s approval to enroll non-immigrant students. • Responsible for overseeing the 2nd tier admissions process for health programs with limited capacities. • Provide leadership in maintaining and developing K-12 and middle college partnerships. • Work with other areas of the College to support retention and student success initiatives. • Responsible for the development, monitoring and maintenance of area budgets consistent with area and College goals. • Works with Marketing and Promotional Services to create publications and information for distribution to a broad range of student demographics. • Responsible for area operations including schedules, workflow, quality control, and customer service. • Serve on the Student Services leadership team in developing and executing strategic goals and supporting student success. • Work with the Registrar/Systems Architect to develop and maximize use of the SalesForce/TargetX system. • Work with the Analytics & Institutional Research office in the development and expansion of data analytics to support strategic enrollment management and student success working collaboratively with other areas of the college. • Engage prospective students/families, present to large groups, serve as a resource and liaison for the college regarding applicant and enrollment student needs • Maintain and support the organizational culture of customer service to support students. • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to deal effectively with college staff at all levels. • Demonstrated ability as a flexible planner with a sense of humor, integrity, and creative problem solver. • Represent the college and make presentations at major college functions. • Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Master’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. • Five (5) years progressive, comprehensive enrollment management experience at a senior level in a higher education environment. • Specific experience in developing and leading recruitment/retention strategies is required. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with various on and off campus constituencies. • Demonstrated ability to independently handle multiple priorities in multiple areas in a fast-paced environment with integrity and exercise sound judgement. • Strong and effective working knowledge of strategic enrollment planning and tactical implementation. • Experience with ERP and CRM systems required. • Comprehensive understanding of the student learning experience and strategies that lead to student success. • Understanding of student recruitment, retention, and student success strategies. • Ability to exhibit leadership, initiative, enthusiasm, team work and collaboration with faculty, staff and with external constituents in the execution of the responsibilities of the position. • Proven excellent interpersonal skills for effective regular contact with diverse internal and external individuals and groups. • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and communicating effectively while establishing cooperative working relationships.
