The LGBT Center provides educational programs on LGBTQIA issues and provides services, advocacy and referrals for the campus community. The Director has the responsibility to spearhead, plan, market and assess educational programs supporting the mission and goals of the LGBT Center. The Director will provide supervision to graduate students, interns, and volunteers. They will have purview over LGBT Center's budget to implement programming. In addition, the Director will provide direct service to students through advocacy, mentoring, support groups and leadership development.
Bachelor's degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.) with 2 years of experience in a community based entity that works to enhance the lives of the LGBT community.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory.
Expertise and experience in event planning and student focused programming.
Experience working with and advising student organizations.
Teaching or training experience.
Budget management skills.
Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
Knowledge of feminism, gender and LGBT issues, and the intersection of systems of oppression.
Commitment to all issues of diversity, oppression, and multiculturalism.
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Based on the essential functions of this position, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes:
Telework: A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employee's permanent/principal work location. Up to 20% of the time.

The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
