Job Description:
POSITIONGOALS:
The Early Alert and Retention Specialist supports the College's academic retention/persistence efforts by providing guidance and leadership centered on the implementation and expansion the Early Alert system and the coordination of instructional and student support services.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Early Alert Software.
Assist in the development of the Early Alert program based on best practices.
Provide professional development to faculty/adjuncts, CTE coaches and staff in the use of the Early Alert system.
Track and report on program data, including, but not limited to program utilization, success rates, training.
Maintain regular and systematic communications with faculty teaching the courses served by academic support and Early Alert.
Provide academic and support program referrals directly to students identified from Early Alert.
Collaborate with other student academic support services to provide academic units and special programs with Information, guidance, and services that support and facilitate student success and graduation.
Manage student cases submitted as Early Alerts, including assessing and re-assigning cases to the appropriate office/party to ensure each student receives the appropriate response.
Collaborates with academic advisors and student affairs offices/programs to assess and support the needs of students who have been identified as at-risk.
Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations.
Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor's Degree required. 2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a community college environment preferred. 3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population. 4. Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, facilitation, and training skills. 5. Demonstrated experience in the implementation, maintenance and coordination of the Early Alert software and process. 6. Ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team in an innovative environment, and independently as needed. 7. Strong written and oral communication skills. 8. Ability to convey information clearly and effectively to individuals. 9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Colleague student information system, and Canvas LMS.
