The College of New Jersey invites applications for Associate Athletic Director – Compliance and Student Development. This is a 12-month full time position that resides in the Athletic Department within the Division of Student Affairs. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Athletics.
The Associate AD for Compliance & Student Development is responsible for managing the department’s compliance and eligibility processes and ensuring the department’s adherence to all NCAA, NJAC and TCNJ rules and regulations. Job responsibilities include administering annual compliance presentations, and rules education programming. This position works with a variety of internal and external constituents to develop educational, leadership and support programming for student-athletes, and to research, identify and solicit student-athletes for participation in leadership, career, internship and education programming offered by the NCAA and other organizations. Additionally, this position also serves as the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the department’s Leadership Fellow/Lions Leading Lions Program.
As a member of the Director of Athletics leadership team, this position holds game management responsibilities, sport administration duties and manages ticketing and concessions for all home events. The Associate AD for Compliance & Student Development is also responsible for planning and executing the TCNJ Hall of Fame, Student-Athlete Orientation and Student-Athlete Senior Banquet.

- Be a key member of the Department's leadership team and play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Department. - Serve as the department's Admissions Liaison, advocate for prospective student-athlete program changers and special talents and monitor the coaches' recruitment process. - Serve as the department's Front Rush Administrator, ensure coach's compliance, run reports and evaluate data to strategically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the recruitment process. - Responsible for the planning and execution of the department's Hall of Fame Ceremony, Student-Athlete Orientation and Senior Student-Athlete Banquet. - Assist in the supervision of athletics admin staff, coaches, support staff and student-workers. - Serve as Athletics liaison to various campus partners and work collaboratively to promote the integration of athletics into the broader campus community. - Ensure the department's compliance with all NCAA, NJAC and other applicable conference regulations, as well as all pertinent federal, state, and local laws, including Title IX, while supporting an environment that promotes the greatest level of integrity and commitment to the highest standards of ethical behavior. - Develop compliance presentations and administer annual student-athlete compliance. - Responsible for maintaining the TCNJ Athletics Department Handbook, Student-Athlete Handbook and the Compliance Policies and Procedures Manual. - Administer a comprehensive rules education program for the Department including coaches, administrators, staff and appropriate personnel. - Monitor the academic progress of student athletes to ensure student-athlete eligibility. - Responsible for the submission of NCAA/Conference waivers, all NCAA required reports and all duties associated with investigating and reporting rules violations. - Serve as the advisor for SAAC, develop programming and provide guidance to set and achieve annual goals. - Serve as the liaison to the Office of Leadership and assist in overseeing and developing programming for the Lions Leading Lions Program. - Engage and collaborate with various Student Affairs partners to develop educational, leadership and support programming for student-athletes. - Research, identify, and solicit student-athletes for internship, workshop and leadership opportunities offered by the NCAA and other national organizations. - Work closely with the Faculty Athletic Rep to identify and problem solve registration or other academic concerns. - Serve as the department's liaison to Financial Aid, Records and Registration, Enrollment, EOF and other areas as needed to assist in the successful recruitment and retention of student-athletes. - Demonstrate a sustained commitment to diversity and to the overall development, academic success and graduation of each student-athlete. - Oversee, monitor and approve scheduling of competitions for the 20 varsity programs and ensure adherence to Department guidelines. - Serve as Game/Event manager, including serving as Tournament Director as assigned. - Manage, coordinate and oversee ticket & concessions operations for all home events. - Hire, train and supervise student-worker staff and event staff.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - 3 years experience in athletics compliance, college athletics or related field.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Fast paced, collaborative and goal oriented environment. - Long hours that sometimes stretch over 14 hours in a day; sitting for long periods of time. - Most weeks in season require six days per week and sometimes seven days a week. - Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
