Job Description: The Associate Director for Residential Experience will serve as the secondary leader for a robust unit centered on developing a supportive and engaging learning environment for on-campus students. This position will oversee 4 Assistant Directors responsible for a functional area and supervision of community staff members. The Associate Director will partner to help architect the transformation of the residential experience with a focus on enhancing student support and increasing retention rates. This position will report to the Director of Residential Experience.
Job Duties: Supervision
Directly supervise four Assistant Directors in functional areas, indirectly supervise 20 Residence Directors, two functional coordinators, six Graduate Assistants, and 225 Resident Assistants.
Experience Development
Assist in overseeing the development of a cohesive and comprehensive residential experience rooted in student success and retention goals.
Develop initiatives with a strong focus on community development and overseeing the development of a cohesive and comprehensive residential experience rooted in student success and retention goals, student engagement, and involvement.
Student Support and Crisis Response
Directly oversee an on-call structure focused on providing student support during and after hours.
Serve as an architect and manager for complex processes and procedures, including management of manuals, and other operational resources to ensure maximum service delivery.
Develop and grow a student-of-concern intervention program that seamlessly integrates with existing campus resources.
Departmental Administration
Collaborate with Housing Administrative Services (HAS) and Housing Facilities Services (HFS) units to ensure a seamless student experience.
Manage the planning and coordination of major initiatives for the Residential Experience unit.
Liaison between business operations staff regarding budget and purchasing compliance for the residential experience unit.
Responsible for the implementation of assessment efforts of the unit.
