Duties of Position: Provides Fast Track program information including acceptance, advising, course/program structure, and registration information to new and current Fast Track students. Supervises the registration of new and current Fast Track students. Utilizes a customized database to manage and maintain the electronic student records for the program. Assists with coordinating and implementing educational support services and programs for adult students in Fast Track. Acts as a Fast Track liaison with students, faculty, community, and other Harper departments.
Provides Fast Track program information including acceptance, advising, course/program structure, and registration information to new and current Fast Track students. Provides information to students about College policies, procedures, academic programs of study, and student support services offered by the College. Makes appropriate referrals to other College departments to assist students as needed.
Responds to questions and concerns and resolves problems for students via email, phone, and in-person. Works closely with other team members and Harper academic and student support departments to assist Fast Track students and ensure a positive experience.
Works closely with Admissions Outreach and Academic Advising to provide information and assist with the acceptance, enrollment, and progress of Fast Track students. Responsibilities include preparing weekly reports on accepted and registered students in new cohorts. Helps coordinate and implement new student orientation efforts.
Utilizes a customized database to manage and maintain the electronic student records for the department. Works closely with the Fast Track Academic Advisors and Fast Track Technical Specialist to ensure accuracy. Maintains the confidentiality of student information.
Supervises the registration of new and current Fast Track students utilizing various systems. Works closely with the Fast Track Technical Specialist. Continuously monitors student enrollment in Fast Track courses. Coordinates with the Academic Advisors and Fast Track Manager to follow up with students as part of the program’s retention efforts.
With the Fast Track Manager and Academic Advisors, continuously monitors the progress of cohorts, identifies student issues, and implements strategies to maintain the quality of the student experience.
Coordinates with the Fast Track Academic Advisors to track graduates and credentials in spring, summer, and fall semesters. Coordinates the event and logistics for Fast Track completion celebrations.
Assists with the development of new program grids to meet the demand for certificate and degree programs offered. Coordinates with the Fast Track Manager and other academic departments to prepare the semester schedule for Fast Track courses based on program grids.
Ensures students are informed about courses, course syllabi, textbooks, and Fast Track and other College services and resources. Coordinates efforts with the Fast Track Technical Specialist to ensure all information is collected from instructors in a timely fashion.
Compiles information and data and prepares various regular reports and other reports as needed.
Compiles a monthly electronic newsletter for Fast Track students. Work closely with the Marketing department in distributing the newsletter every month.
Coordinates with the Fast Track Manager and other Harper academic and student support departments for outreach events and programs for adult students.
Provides general office support to the department. Orders Fast Track office and instructional supplies under the approval of the Fast Track Manager. Makes recommendations to the Fast Track Manager regarding office procedures and implements new procedures as directed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, public relations, or related field.
Experience Requirements: Two years of student or customer service experience. Experience in higher education preferred, with a focus on student service. Experience working with adult students a plus. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Microsoft Access or other database experience necessary. Experience with Ellucian Banner system or related student information system a plus. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent service. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required, with specific attention to detail. Ability to interact collegially with people of varied backgrounds (students, faculty, staff, administrators, community members, and visitors).
